A Hong Kong company introduced a compact food waste machine model EX-10 which can turn food waste into water for irrigation.
One of it was installed in a hostel of Chinese University of Hong Kong. The discharge met the government standard.
Even the discharge cannot be completely consumed, it will discharge to the sewage system and harmless to the environment. Landfill should not be the final destination of food waste.
In the past, most food waste were converted to compost which took weeks to process and resulting strong smell issues.
